things are slow going around here- one of us is sicko (emily) and the other one is knee deep in moving and all the chaos that brings (jen). we'll be back at 'em soon and out of our strange vortex. we can hardly wait to get back to beading and photographing and eating up the last bits of summer (say it ain't so). but for now, its back to the couch (emily) and back to the boxes (jen).

just updated the shop with not one, but two new gems. after seeing them side by side, we're thinking they look just as great alone as they do together. yeah? and see that big turquoise bead- that's the last one....wah wah wah. we got them in rome and we've run out. we enjoyed using that shape and color though– here, here, here and here.

jen had a yard sale recently and i made out like a bandit! there was good stuff galore. i basically stole scooped up some pottery pieces and quickly filled them up with plants, fruit and flowers that needed homes.

week in review...

we got to enjoy the first tomato of the season from our garden. melt in your mouth amazing.

my niece made these beads and bracelet at camp. we're eying her talents for our dullDiamond apprenticeship program for 5 year olds....

and finally, these two were just added to the shop. we can't get enough of them (and will be making doubles for us!)...and they are the 240th and 241st (wow) dD items we've made to date. thanks to you all for following along and supporting us.

speaking of beautiful hand-made shoes...

two friends here in Minneapolis, Crystal and Luisa, just began making hand made shoes last year under the name Ina Grau. hard to believe that one year's time could result in such fine details & perfection of shape. The shoes they recently made for Anne Larson might just be the shoes I've been dreaming of all my life... all my life.  they've invited us over to the studio in the near future. yes Yes YES.

in 8th grade i was obsessed with sunflowers. it was a very short lived obsession but unfortunately in the minds of my friends and family it lived very long because for years all anyone gave me for gifts were sunflower related items. this photo makes me cringe and laugh!

we promise (kind of), come november you won't see a flower here. we're minnesotans and fresh cut flowers are hard to come by most of the year. today was stormy and rainy and the air was thick and the universe felt off, so let this be our bright spot along with this new bracelet - it's a hard one to part with but in the shop it goes.
