handmade holiday shop - thank goodness

the second of our holiday projects is about to launch out into the great wide world. we've made three  beauties just for the handmade holiday pop-up shop (open for preview now!) that will be open from december 1st -7th. come and shop all limited edition pieces from mannnny talented makers and shakers.

the shop opens this thursday, december 1st, 10am est.

yesterday, with some help from the sun

attempted to make a sun print using the 2 brand new items in the shop (#299 & #300). the result did not turn out the way we hoped, but this photo is an equally charming take away.

big news! 

here it is, we took the leap, our first shop order! big things, curated by the great rebecca goldschmidt, asked us to make goods for her shop and without a second to think (or much spare time to work), we said yesyesyesuresuresure. how could we say no?! we came up with these ditties for her and they will never be made by us again (because that's how we roll). scoot on over to her shop to view our 6 pieces and to check out the rest of her dandy set up. ohhh and while we do so love taking photos we're not so hot on being in front of the camera- here's our attempt to provide some likeness of ourselves:

we live in minneapolis and we are not shy about it. when you're surrounded by so many brilliant makers and artists, how could one be? which brings us to one of our holiday (and hopefully beyond) projects. annika kaplan, erin smith, and maddy nye have brought together a number of makers of beautiful things, all in one place, for your pleasure ------> SHIP & SHAPE will launch an online shop next week- novemeber 20th. you will hear more from us about this- frankly, we can't stop talking about it.

another we love---> ERIN CONSIDINE <---

erin considine's process is as rich as the outcome of her practice. she carves the prototypes for her brass charms and clasps, she makes the dyes for the yarn, rope, and fibers which ultimately, she weaves into thoughtful jewels- each is preciously un-precious. be still my heart.

I just got one of these beauties- and it's even softer and harder and richer and stranger and bolder and more lovely in person than in photos. i don't think I'll be taking it off anytime soon.

have you heard of the shop pretty mommy? (don't be fooled by the name, its a shop for any woman with great taste). its curated by our friend michelle and we (mostly emily, but when jen can she jumps in) have the pleasure of taking some of the photos for her shop. we'll go as far to say that it's the most impeccably curated shop on the www at this moment. she has an eye for the handmade. for the delicate. for the functional & cozy. for intoxicating smells. for the extravagant & simple. even shoes. and for one beastly divine vest by Loup Charmant that she will be adding soon.

OBJ. & TOTEM

we're fans (and that's an understatement). a while ago both of us were lucky enough to get our hands on one of these fantastically original necklaces. when the package arrived it was full of little and big pleasures- unwrapping the thoughtfully packaged envelope, a little bag made out of killer fabric to hold the goods, and ohhh the goods themselves. lets just say if we weren't already falling we're now straight up head over heals. thanks obj. & totem- for making something we've never seen before.
